Extended Lake-Effect Snow Season

The lake-effect snow season has been extended forward in time this winter. What do we mean by that? Well, one of the main components of lake-effect snow is warm lake waters. Because January was the mildest in many years, the lakes stayed warm and, in fact have not yet frozen over.
