According to news sources, the word from beaches in the area of landfall (though not my beach [JessePedia] specifically) indicates little damage. If anyone has reports from Long Beach, please drop me an email. Only 85,000 people were without power during the peak of the storm.
Dr. Joe Sobel (PREMIUM | PRO) has some interesting thoughts on the NHC's classification of Ernesto.
