End of March Over-Performing Snowstorm
This weekend's storm in the Northeast U.S., which was billed last week as a rain storm for all but the highest elevations of New England,* turned out to be (yet another) over-performer for snowfall.
Late last week, it was expected that it would be in the 50s with rain here in Central Pennsylvania this weekend; we ended up staying in the 40s on Saturday and 30s Sunday here in State College. It just seems like this winter won't let go!
We also had snow flurries and snow and sleet to our southeast from Harrisburg to York. Because of the heavy rain, the roads weren't treated and froze up quickly at higher elevations (and I mean slightly higher, as in hills).
*Although the snow wasn't in the forecast (or was heavier than expected) in many places, our meteorologists Elliot Abrams, Henry Margusity, and Bernie Rayno mentioned the possibility of it in their discussions on Friday.
