Ebay Hurr. Paintings, Olive Branch
I saw something I never thought I'd see on the USAToday WeatherGuys blog last week -- a link to AccuWeather.com. This is because USAToday's weather and weather news sections are owned, operated and logo-stamped by a major competitor of AccuWeather's (someone who just might have a channel on cable dedicated to weather).
I see it as an olive branch, so today I return the favor.
Here's a link to their blog entries talking about Katrina Voss (PREMIUM | PRO) and how her mother is selling hurricane paintings on Ebay for charity (an interesting story).
Perhaps we commercial weather companies need to lay down our arms in the blogosphere. It's not like we don't know each other exist, after all, though sometimes we may pretend that. Ignoring each other's existence doesn't work as well in the Blogging world as it does in the Sales world, and you the readers probably suffer because of it. I congratulate USAToday in taking the first step to a kinder, gentler, worldwide commercial weather enterprise, and if the WeatherGuys (or other competitors blogs) break unique news in the future that I think you should know about, I commit to post it here, with no shame.
