Death Valley Update, Other Hot Temps
In regards to yesterday's post that Death Valley might break the Record U.S. temperature, it did not. Death Valley officially reached 127 degrees yesterday, with 122 measured at the unofficial but real-time station. However, that's pretty darn hot. Here are some other extreme high temperatures this week:
Palm Springs, CA: 116; Fresno, CA: 111; Phoenix, AZ: 116; Reno, AZ: 108;
Sacramento, CA: 107; Grand Junction, CO: 103; Salt Lake City, UT: 101
The Associated Press offers the picture below and also notes that Baker, CA hit 125 while Saint George, UT hit 115 and Pendleton, OR hit 107!
