Dean Looking Scary, Gulf Evac, Jamaica
Hurricane Dean is looking pretty scary this morning, with 150 mph winds, a strong Category 4 storm. Multiple oil platforms have been evacuated and oil wells have been shut down in the Gulf of Mexico (Bloomberg), even though the storm is days away. Buoy 42059 has already gusted to 66 knots (76 mph) and has seen the pressure fall to 28.77" Hg when Dean passed to its north overnight. Here's a visible satellite shot from this morning:

At this time, we at AccuWeather.com believe that Dean will be a Category 5 storm causing flooding rain, catastrophic winds and dangerous mudslides on Jamaica. The Jamaica weather service is recommending that preparations be completed today.
