Deadly Eastern U.S. Flooding, More
More on the deadly East Coast flooding from this weekend (see previous articles: Heavy Rain Drenches East, and Wilmington Floods Again).
The Boston Globe reports that two people were killed and several are missing in New Hampshire. A third of the city of Keene was under four to six feet of water, and a dam broke in the city of Alstead, causing a 5-foot wall of water to damage twelve bridges. The state of New Hampshire is under a State of Emergency.
Below is a Doppler-Estimated precipitation map of southern New Hampshire, courtesy AccuWeather.com RadarPlus. The grey area indicates more than 4 inches of rainfall.
Dozens of daily (and some monthly) rainfall records were broken at nearly every official government weather station on the East Coast. Here is a list of record rainfall reports issued by the National Weather Service between Thursday and Sunday. A total of 78 reports were issued, with some duplicates.
