Coastal Storm Floods New England
A strong coastal storm is flooding New England this Wednesday. Rain from the storm has reached as far westward as Binghamton, NY and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Over four inches of rain has fallen in parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, according to Doppler estimates (regional (red > 2") | metro)
Recent rainfall totals issued by the National Weather Service include (12 p.m.):
4.90" - Falmouth, MA
4.75" - Sandwich, MA
4.70" - Acushnet, Berkley MA
There have been many reports of flooded homes, streets, and water being measured in feet.
Heavy rain, strong winds and high waves will continue to batter the coast tonight.
