Coastal Election Storm`s Greatest Hits
The "coastal Election storm" did more than spoil some democratic votes yesterday in North Carolina and Virginia yesterday. It also provided fairly impressive winds and waves at Buoy #41025 (Diamond Shoals, just off the coast of Cape Hatteras, NC). Below are wind and wave graphs showing waves over 18 feet, and wind gusts to nearly 50 knots (58 mph). The official station at Cape Hatteras itself (KHSE) has even gusted to 51 mph (graph).
