Clarification of Rita Movement
AccuWeather.com issued a map today clarifying where the remnants of Hurricane Rita will move. On our map yesterday we said simply that Rita would move back into the Gulf.
We still believe that the circulation of Rita will move southward into the Gulf of Mexico, and my cohorts at AccuWeather initially thought she could even redevelop into a Tropical Storm later this week. However, our meteorologists now want to clarify that most of the moisture with the system will quickly move to the northeast as a cold front picks it up, and it is unlikely Rita will be able to redevelop in the Gulf due to unfavorable upper-level conditions.
Keep an eye on AccuWeather.com for continued updates on the progression of Rita's remnants this week.
