Christmas Storm Forecast
Nationwide, this is what we expect on Christmas Eve:
And Christmas Day:
Notice we are calling for some snow to fall during those times in many areas, as far south as Tennessee -- models have been trending towards a wider coverage of light snow as we have moved forward this week. Note that considerably mild air will be out ahead of this storm system, so while it may be snowing, it might not be accumulating. This storm system will not be like the last two, where much of the Northeast had extremely cold air in place, guaranteeing high accumulations.
MODEL PREDICTIONS (12/25 Noon) (from our Pro site):
The DGEX thinks light snow (flurries/showers) will be falling as far south as the northern Gulf states at noon on Christmas Day.
(from our Pro site).
The NAM (ETA) has a similar solution.
The GFS totally disagrees, not connecting the coastal storm with the inland storm. It has rain over much of the Northeast initially, the light snow by Monday morning.
Weather, of course, is subject to change. Stay tuned to our Weather Headlines (PREMIUM | PRO) and Breaking Weather News Page.
I'm not going anywhere during the next few days so stay tuned.
The J-CAM will be burning the late-afternoon oil today but will be offline until January 3 as I will be out of the office.
