Cheesy TV WeatherMan Ads
Local TV station meteorologists will stop at nothing to promote their station's weather personality. Today, a couple of examples of some out-of-the-box marketing.
First, WCBS (New York City) has a commercial featuring their meteorologists "battling" the competition in a boxing ring. The commercial was created to promote their new Doppler radar system, the Doppler 2 Million (million-watt radar + Channel 2 = Doppler 2 Million).
Next up, FOX 19 (Cincinnati) partners with Bud Light Beer to bring you a meteorological version of their "Real Men of Genius" series of radio ads (formerly known as "Real American Heroes"). Sharing the limelight with other historical greats such as "Mr. Giant-Taco-Salad-inventor" and "Mr. Giant Foam Finger Maker", we now have "Mr. Excited About Storms WeatherMan."
I was forwarded these via email a few weeks ago, and at first I thought they weren't even real. Sadly, they are. Check the videos out via the links below.
Today, we salute you, "Mr. Cheesy Local TV Weatherman Ad Maker."
