California Passes 100 MPH! UPDATE
UPDATE (4 PM PT): Rain totals of 5 to 10 inches, more winds in the 90-110 mph range listed below. Pressures lowered and waves raised below. There is an unconfirmed report of 152 mph winds at Ship Muntain, California. The wind data does not look unreasonable but the temperature data looks unreliable, the station is flagged as "QC CAUTION" and I can't confirm authenticity of the wind reading.
1,200,000 (1.2 million) are without power (San Jose Mercury News). In Auburn, Calif., blog reader Robert reports that the city "looks like a war zone" with trucks and power poles blown over on the highway.
