In 2002, I gave a tour of AccuWeather HQ to weather enthusiast and author Bernard Mergen, professor emeritus of American studies at George Washington University. was a member of WeatherMatrix and I gave a tour to him a few years ago. He has written a book that mentions AccuWeather several times (including references to Joe Bastardi and myself). Specifically he says in the footnotes:

Bernard's book is unique in that it covers something I don't think other writers have up until now - the psychology and history of weather enthusiasm and enterprise in America. You can read more about the book in this interview. If you are a meteorologist or weather enthusiast, this book will answer some questions that you may have regarding your weather obsession.
