Blogging from Mount Washington
I'm excited to report that we have a very unique weather weblog which has been recently added to AccuWeather.com: Brian's Blog from Mount Washington (PREMIUM | PRO).
This young fellow, son of Western Wizard Ken Clark (PREMIUM | PRO), is lucky enough to have an internship at the Mount Washington Observatory, home of the World's Worst Weather. He will be posting his thoughts and photos from the summit for the next couple of months.
Brian has posted the photo below (click for expanded view), taken November 23, 2005, when the weather there was already harsh, yet beautiful.
The weather on Mount Washington is about as extreme as you can get. They've clocked 234 mph winds and have seen over 500 inches of snow in a season. Read the bottom of their page or my post on October 26th, 2005 for more information on the famous location.
To quote from today's Blog:
I plan to talk about the general goings on at the Observatory, of course the current weather, and hopefully even try my hand at doing some forecasting for the summit. novice forecaster at best and have a lot to learn. I just finished my first forecasting class this past fall and starting out by forecasting for a place such as Mount Washington is no easy task regardless of experience. It will be a great experience to not only attempt to forecast the weather there, but see it happen first hand.
