Blizzard Hits Nova Scotia
A strong winter storm is battering Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Canada today. High waves are causing the threat of shoreline flooding while heavy snow and high winds batter the area. Many businesses, schools and government offices are closed.
As of this morning, CTV reported that Syndney had received 15 cm (7.7 inches) of snow and expected up to 40 cm (15.7 inches) more. Surely the high winds will make snow measuring difficult. Winds were expected to be as high as 120 km/h (75 mph).
Looking at the AccuWeather.com Canadian Radars, you can see that Nova Scotia was inundated at 9 p.m. last night but as the storm system moves away today, snow is beginning to decrease from the southwest, as of our 6 a.m. radar.
