Bertha`s Wild Ride - Webcam and Radar
UPDATE: Updating graphic below to the 67.5 knot (77 mph) gust at Commiss. Point at around 2 PM. The NHC [JessePedia] says at 3 PM :
ORINGAL POST: Tropical Storm (as of this morning) Bertha has had an odd track during the last week and she's now slowed to a crawl near Bermuda. You can see her past and forecast tracks below, courtesy the AccuWeather.com Google Hurricane Tracker (PREMIUM | PRO):
Although official center-of-point tracks keep her off the island, there is a slight chance she could veer nearer, and clearly she is already affecting the island nation. The Bermuda Weather Service's webcam showed a rainy morning there, and their weather radar (archived) showed the eyewall raking the island - though the storm's center was offshore so technically the storm didn't "make landfall," it won't make a difference to residents. The observations from the BWS website indicated winds of tropical storm force, up to 51 knots (59 mph), gusting to 65 (75 mph) at 11:30 AM at Commissioners Point. Other land stations and the local buoy showed lower winds. I'll continue to update you with the highest winds throughout the day.
There was one lone Associated Press photo from the storm's approach yesterday. A local newspaper said that flights were grounded and beaches were closed.
