Beautiful Dolly From Mexico, Energy Effects?
UPDATE: You can see Dolly nicely on radar now; I have added links at the bottom of this entry.
ORIGINAL POST: These beautiful pics were taken Sunday in Cancun, Mexico by Ramos on our Photo Gallery as Tropical Storm Dolly moved away from the resort town. (Depsite what you may have heard, you're not looking at "the edge of the hurricane" here but rather the Outflow Boundary [WikiPedia] of one of the thunderstorms associated with the storm).
AccuWeather.com Professional's Joe Bastardi [BIO] (PRO USERS READ NOW | 30-DAY FREE TRIAL) downplayed Tropical Storm (probably soon to be Hurricane) Dolly's potential affect on Energy sectors this morning on-air on the Fox Business Channel, saying the storm is going to be more of an Agricultural interest. The storm is forecast to make landfall tomorrow near southern Texas. Crude oil closed up on the markets Monday evening, evening though major financial sites such as MarketWatch noted that the storm would have little impact on oil production. As you can see below, most of the oil rigs are out of the path of the storm, as are most refineries [Google Map], with the possible exception of the Corpus Christi complex, which is at the northern extent of the Hurricane Warnings.
