Baseball Hail, A Dozen Tornadoes
QUICK UPDATE AT 9 PM Eastern:
77 Tornado Warnings and a staggering 624 Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been issued so far today (StormMatrix). 4 Severe Thunderstorm AND Tornado Watches are in effect.
So far today, 4" diameter hail in Louisiana, 75 mph winds reported in Mississippi, and a dozen tornadoes have also been reported from this storm system.
Warren and Melinda from Salem, Alabama, sent in this picture of damage from this afternoon, and say this of their suspected tornado:
"It blew open a locked door in our bedroom, busted 3 windows in our bedroom and uprooted 3 trees next door. I took a picture of the huge oak in our neighbor's yard which split the large storage unit in the yard in two!"
