Antarctica Cold, Fires & U.S. Snow
According to the AccuWeather.com World Weather Summary, it's cold in Antarctica. Wait, it's always cold in Antarctica. So what's the big deal? Well, even in Antarctica, 30 degrees below normal is, well, colder than usual.
"At the South Pole where the United States' Amundsen-Scott base is located. Here, the high was -93 degrees with this mark being about 32 degrees below average. The -96-degree low was also well below average; the mean daily low during early October is about -72."
