An Umbrella That Predicts Rain

Sounds silly doesn't it? But (a futuristic gadget company that never ceases to impress me) has done it. The base of the umbrella's handle flashes blue (at different speeds) when rain is predicted, based on a wireless feed from AccuWeather.com.

I was already preparing to blog about this when the UPI article about it came out last night. There were some good quotes in the article which explain the aim of the company:
