An Interesting Flooding Event for Mid-Atlantic
The next couple of days are going to be interesting for the mid-Atlantic, as a pinwheel storm system stays static in the Ohio Valley, but draws moisture up its front from the Atlantic, "training" rain over the same areas again and again (see this morning's radar animation for example).
The Forecast Models [JessePedia] have been saying for the last few days that heavy rain could fall today through Monday night. The 4-KM WRF model below is the biggest predictor, showing 8 or more inches in parts of Maryland, northern Virginia, and southern Pennsylvania.
