Alberto Spawns Tornadoes, Lightning Fires
Between about 1 p.m. yesterday and 1 a.m. today, in Georgia and South Carolina. These were spawned from thunderstorms around the edge of Tropical Storm Alberto (which is a depression moving through the eastern Carolinas this morning).
WCBD-2 in Charleston has an article about a tornado in the downtown Charleston, SC area which broke car windows during rush hour. The Statesboro (GA) Herald has a small photo of damage in Savannah and article about the tornadoes.
