A Little Snow Causes Bad Roads in PA
Even though snow amounts so far have been light, the snow is causing severe travel problems across southern and Central Pennsylvania. Now, you know I've said before how the roads are always well-treated here during the winter, and I always tell that story of being in downtown State College when I first moved here during freezing rain and 15 degrees, but the roads were clear.

Today, the situation is different. Note that dicy exit ramp on the cam above,* which shows a major road, and the completely-covered local streets of State College, shown on my Driveway Cam below.
The problem, unusually temperatures combined with steady snowfall. Temps are still in the lower 20s here near noon, so everything that falls is sticking. Add to that low traffic since the snow started falling mid-morning, and you end up with snowy roads, especially secondaries, and entrance/exit ramps and bridges. The local school districts probably weren't worried with only 1-2 inches of snow predicted, but if this is still going on at 3 PM, they may regret that.
