A January Moderate Risk
It may be January 2nd, but we've got an old-fashioned severe weather outbreak on our hands today. Not only in the Southeast, but also the Midwest.
The government's Storm Prediction Center has issued a MODERATE RISK for severe thunderstorms in parts of the Southeast. This is extremely rare in the winter.
Three tornadoes were reported yesterday in Missouri and Mississippi.
Currently, severe thunderstorms are in Indiana, Illinois and the Deep South. So far today, hail up to 1 inch in diameter has been reported in Illinois and Georgia.
