A Heat Wave in Europe, Too
Europe is undergoing a heat wave as vicious as the one in the United States this week. Some highlights from a USAToday article:
- Judges removed wigs in the historic Royal Courts of Justice
- Buckingham Palace guards cut down shifts from 2 to 1 hour each
- 300 people ill in Netherlands' "4-Day March"
- 117 degrees inside train system in London's Underground, which has no A/C
- 104 degrees in Spain, killing 2
- 102 in Bordeaux, France; 9 dead
- 97 Degrees Near London (hottest day ever in July in the country; all-time record is 101)
- 96 in Ultrecht
- 95 in Berlin
Expected high temperatures are shown below (yes I'm aware the map is low resolution). Tomorrow, when we receive the data, I'll post a plot of high temperatures in this entry.
