A Foot of Rain: Flooding Videos and Update
Good Wednesday morning to you... the latest AccuWeather.com Doppler-Estimated Precip map shows more than a foot of rain from southwest to east-central Missouri this morning.
Some of the top rainfall totals are:Cape Girardeau, MO: 11.45"Point Peter, AR: 8.77"Gallatia, IL: 7.80"Evansville, IN: 6.38"Caddo Wildlife, TX: 5.95"Henderson City, KY: 5.22"McAlester, OK: 5.11"The NWS says that 176 river gauges are already showing flooding now, with a total of 236 projected to be flooding in the next 48 hours. As just one example, the Merrimec River @ Sullivan, MO is expected to crest at 33.9 feet, breaking its record height of 33.5 feet set in 1915 (archived).
