92 MPH - Wind Gusts So Far
UPDATE: A new list of wind gusts has been published. New reports near Pittsburgh have come into light which give credence to the 92 mph gust there:
77 MPH GUST WAS RECORDED WITH A DAVIS WEATHER UNIT IN NOTTINGHAM TOWNSHIP. 3NE BROWNSVILLE, PA TRAINED SPOTTER RECORDED 87 MPH WIND GUST
Below is an illustration of how the winds occurred. If this happened on a local basis it's likely the Pittsburgh gust was legitimate. I have not heard much questioning of it from other meteorologists, and there certainly was a lot of damage there.
UPDATE: Unconfirmed report of over 90 mph at Mount Davis, PA. Over 13,000 lost power in Pittsburgh. Some interesting Comments below, keep them coming.
UPDATE: Pittsburgh (AGC) gusted to 92 mph at 7:53 pm when the squall line passed through, according to the obs and Local Storm Report from the NWS, but I can't confirm readings even close to that nearby - the runner up appears to be Johnstown with 61 mph.
Here's a list of wind gusts so far from this system - very impressive.
