8-Inch Australian Hail?
Our AccuWeather.com's world weather news blog (PREMIUM | PRO) today says:
Aurora, Nebraska currently holds the world's record for largest hail at 7 inches. This hailstone was initially reported by the media as 6.5 inches (as I reported on April 24, 2003). I'm away from my bookshelf so I can't see what Chris Burt, author of "Extreme Weather", has to say about worldwide hail records.
