THE ICE (PINK) YESTERDAY AT 3 PM
(VIEW A 3-DAY RADAR LOOP)
Oklahoma was beginning its third round of freezing rain and sleet Sunday morning (as predicted by the NMM model earlier this week, the state was to suffer through three pulses of winter precip). The ice will move southeast towards the Gulf Coast by Monday (see graphic below) and will also move northeast to continue to coat Missouri and Illinois with more glaze. At least 7 deaths have been blamed on the storm (Google News).

An overnight ice storm downed trees and power lines, leaving an estimated 90 percent of the city without power, and forecasters predicted additional freezing rain for the area. At least a quarter of a million people were without power on Saturday night in Oklahoma, Missouri and Illinois as the weekend ice storm continued to plague the Plains. A tornado also hit in Texas (CNN).
Here are some of the incredible reports coming out of this weekend's storm. If these are true, they would be incredible. Reports of over a couple inches of sleet or over one inch of freezing rain, I'm not sure I've ever heard as much as 6 inches of sleet or 4 inches of ice, as the reports below show.
