50s, 40s, 30s... Here Comes Fall
Yep, that's it. When I stepped out of my door this morning I felt it. The first chilly morning of the season. Then I noticed a few trees starting to turn yellow. It's amazing how quickly fall weather is ushered in sometimes, and it's almost always in this first half of this month. Even down South, I remember once coming home from the Beach in North Carolina the first week in August -- it was completely cloudy the entire trip, chilly with drizzle. And when I moved to Pennsylvania in late July 1997, I was amazed by the chill I felt when I arrived to daytime fog and temperatures in the 50's.
This week, one cold front has come through already and a supporting fall blast is on its way to the Carolinas (but it won't have much impact by this weekend by the time it gets there).
I had 47 degrees this morning at my house, and at Bradford, PA, it dipped to 40. Mount Washington, NH, home of the World's Worst Weather, dipped into the 30s, with RealFeel temperatures down to 19 degrees!
