4.5 Inch Hail, Tornadoes Hit Again
Extremely severe weather has struck the Midwest hard this Sunday. As of 8:30 PM Central time, the following stats have been achieved today:
>30 Tornado Reports
>180 Hail Reports to 4.5" diameter in Arkansas
>60 Wind Reports to 81 mph in Indiana
Currently an incredible SIX Tornado Watches (and two severe thunderstorm warnings) are in effect. 75 Tornado Warnings and an uncountable number of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have already been issued today. Radar movies from AccuWeather.com RadarPlusare available here.
An incredible (perhaps unprecedented) NINE of those hail reports were from Arkansas for "4.25 Inches or Higher Diameter Hail" and one actually quoted 4.5" as the size. There were many wind reports over 70 mph, including the 81 mph report.
