To quote from our Breaking Weather News page today:

The first map below (from AccuWeather.com Professional) shows 3 inches of rain falling in 6 hours this morning over the ocean.

The second map shows our prediction for generalized total rainfall from Tropical Storm Beta. As noted above, some mountain areas could receive up to 30 inches of rain.

In 1998, Hurricane Mitch killed more than 10,000 people with flooding rains in the same area.
