3 Months of Snowplows, Montana Road Opens Late

The National Parks Service says:
ORIGINAL REPORT: The "Sun Road" in Glacier National Park, Montana, is still closed after three months of attempts to plow through record snow covering the road. So far, this is the third-latest opening (one was because of World War II). These pictures were taken on July 1st by the National Park Service (where you can get a status on the road closureand webcams from lower elevation) four days ago:
This is not the first article we've written about the unusually late road openings in the West (awesome photo); record snow this winter also has led to spectacular waterfalls. And Snowbird, a Ski Resort in Utah, was still open on July 4th after they bested their seasonal snowfall record by nearly 100 inches this year.
This article says that the plow operators think this Winter and Spring have brought the biggest snow drifts and more avalanches than usual.
