2nd Lucky Rainbow Photos, Loop
When I get lucky, I get lucky.
Not only did I get a beautiful rainbow on my new digital camera Friday, I was lucky enough to see another one last night. This one was a double rainbow with supernumeraries on the primary bow (see this photo), and stuck around for 30 minutes -- long enough for me to get some good closeups, far-aways, shots with the house, pics of the family in front of it, and more. In fact after shooting about 50 pics, I had to stop and wait for some more interesting clouds to move in front of the rainbow. After it faded, the clouds in the southern sky turned a bright pink.
Here is a composite image that I put together from several photos:

Looking back at the pics that the webcam captured, I put together an animation, or loop, of the rainbow. This is something that's rare to see because 1.) Rainbows don't usually hang around for half an hour and 2.) People's cameras are usually moving. Here's what it looks like (it's hard to maintain the color depth in a GIF animation so this will look a little chunky):

Looking online, I found some rainbow shots taken from a University of Arizona webcam but their time-lapse archives didn't have any videos.
True time-lapse video would have been cool but I don't have the equipment to do it. I did find a handful of time-lapse rainbow videos on other sites:

And here are the rest of the pics.
Officemates Henry Margusity, Carl Schaad, and Jason G. also captured the bows:
