200 High Temperature Records?
We talked Thursday about the record-breaking warmth that had spread through the South during the first part of the work week, sparking more than 80 record highs to be reported by the government in one day.
The warmth continued to spread northward on Thursday and Friday, causing nearly 100 more record highs to be broken.
Surely after today the number of record highs broken this week will be over 200. Quite impressive.
At left are shown the high temperatures in the Northern Plains yesterday -- South Dakota reached 80 degrees while northern Minnesota and North Dakota basked in warm afternoon temperatures near 70.
