140 MPH At Grandfather, Mt. Wash

Grandfathermountain.com reports this morning that they recorded a wind gust of 140 mph yesterday. Even their unofficial automated station, which they often have to take down during harsh winter winds, clocked an 89 mph gust.

Surprisingly, Mount Washington [JessePedia] gusted to only 66 mph per their summit report, but they did drop to 16 degrees this morning with snow and ice, according to their blog.
