UPDATE: As of 6 AM Saturday, Parish, NY has officially received 100 inches of snow from this week's lake-effect. The Regional, US & Canada week-long radar loops have been updated. The following photo has been issued by the Associated Press:

UPDATE: I have updated yesterday's week-long radar loops to include images through noon today; I have also added (at the bottom) a list of totals measured by our snow chasers, a map of the totals so far and a map showing expected additional accumulation tonight and tomorrow.

ORIGINAL POST:

Lake-effect snowfall totals this week in New York are approaching 100 inches. Our snow chasers have uploaded some killer photos from their trip to Mexico and Parish, NY. Here are the highlights:

Here are some new, and incredible lake-effect snow totals from New York; these will be updated later today if they are exceeded (over 40 inches shown):

NOTE: This list has been superceded by a newer one.

PARISH, NY: 100"
MEXICO, NY: 88"
NORTH OSCEOLA, NY: 85"
OSWEGO, NY: 71"
SCRIBA, NY: 70"
PULASKI, NY: 59"
WEST MONROE, NY: 58"
EAST OSWEGO, NY: 46"

The latest photos can be viewed below; click here for a Permalink to all of their photos. There is also a short movie you can download (AVI format).

Here's a map showing the approximate accumulation so far:

Specific amounts measured by our chasers on Thursday are as follows (keep in mind this is snow on the ground and a lot of this had settled from the higher totals):

3 miles west of Mexico: 61"
Plantz Corner (NE Oswego County): 52"
Mexico: 54"
Parish: 51"
RT 13 South of the Tug Hill: 47"
Scriba: 42"
Pulaski: 31"

The lake-effect machine is slowing down but another foot could accumulate east of Lake Ontario tonight and tomorrow.
