10 Inches of Rain in Georgia
Just a quick note on Tropical Storm Tammy and related weather... the coast of Georgia has been taking heavy rain from bands of Tammy for 48 hours now.
Some areas on the coast have seen over 10 inches of rain from Tammy, according to Doppler Radar (screen capture from AccuWeather.com RadarPlus shown below).
Notice in this 2-day regional radar movie how the bands of heavy rain keep dousing the Georgia coast, the latest of which was when the core of the storm came onshore, dropping up to 5 inches of rain per hour (see 1-hour estimated Doppler precip movie).
