...Sharply colder temperatures including a late season freeze
expected for portions of the region Saturday night/Sunday
    morning...

An intense upper level storm system will send a strong cold front
through the area Saturday evening. Temperatures will fall quickly
into the 30's and 40's Saturday night. Record lows will be
possible with the coldest temperatures across northern portions
of Lea county and the higher terrain of the Guadalupe and Davis
Mountains. In these areas, a light, late season freeze is
expected with lows Sunday morning in the upper 20's and low 30's.
Many of these locations have yet to fully green-up, but any
sensitive plants should be covered or protected. Strong northerly
winds will also create wind chills mostly in the teens and 20's
    areawide Sunday morning.
