Rain postpones NASCAR race at Dover, Delaware, to Monday
Forget the finish, it was yet another wet afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky for spectators, jockeys and horses at the Kentucky Derby. It was the third year in a row that the track was messy and the rain gear had to interfere with the traditional fashion of those who attended. AccuWeather was there for the significant event.
The weather plagued NASCAR racers and fans in Dover, Delaware, over the weekend. Fortunately, much nicer weather is in store for the postponed Gander RV 400 on Monday.
After fog canceled the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice on Saturday morning, rain forced officials to move Sunday's Gander RV 400 to noon EDT on Monday.

"Unfortunately for race fans, more rain grazed the Dover International Speedway on Sunday afternoon and led to the postponement," according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski.
"There are no lights to let the race run after dark," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alan Reppert added.
NASCAR should have no issues holding the race on Monday.
"Monday looks nice with highs near 70 F and a partly sunny sky," according to Reppert.
