More heavy rain coming to the Southeast
The southern states will become a battle zone this week between cold air across the north and west and springtime warmth over Florida and parts of adjacent states. Snow and ice will be kept mostly at bay with a few exceptions. The available warmth and moisture will lead to some severe storm risks, but the primary concern is that parts of the Southeast are going to have a lot of rain over the next week, leading to some flooding concerns. A quieter but colder spell appears likely as we head toward the end of the month.
A generally quiet regime will be in place until Wednesday, even though sunshine will be limited in many places by high clouds streaming in from the Pacific. Things change at midweek as a new storm system takes shape...
