Despite coronavirus restrictions, people in London, England, could be seen all along the river enjoying some sun on April 3.
Ahead of the next round of showers for the United Kingdom, temperatures across the country have climbed well above normal for the beginning of April.
An area of high pressure moved over the British Isles from the Atlantic Ocean during the end of the week.
As the high shifts east into central Europe this weekend, winds over the British Isles will turn out of the southeast and then the south. This will usher in warmer air across the area.
High temperatures increased from around 10 C (upper 40s and lower 50s F) on Friday to widespread lower 10s C (50s F) across the region on Saturday.
Temperatures in parts of southeastern England climbed as high as 15 C (61 F) on Saturday afternoon, including London.
Along with the warmup, Saturday featured sunny spells and dry conditions for much of the region.
Temperatures climbed even higher across England, Wales and southern Scotland on Sunday, peaking in the upper 10s C (middle to upper 60s F) throughout the afternoon.
These temperatures are about 5 degrees Celsius (5-15 degrees Fahrenheit) higher than normal for the time of year. Normal temperatures for the beginning of April for these cities are around 10-12 C (lower 50s F).
While people across the U.K. may want to take advantage of the beautiful weather, public health officials are reminding residents of the importance of remaining home.
“Whatever the weather, we all have a shared responsibility to protect those around us, and the single most important action we can all take in fighting coronavirus is to stay at home in order to protect the NHS and save lives,” said Prof Jonathan Van Tam, the deputy chief medical officer for England.

Meanwhile, showers arrived in Ireland on Sunday and are forecast to spread east into Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and far western England through the overnight hours.
Isolated showers are expected to continue in these areas on Monday as a brief round of wet weather spreads across the rest of the British Isles.
"In addition to showers, it will be blustery across the northern U.K. with this frontal passage during Sunday into Monday," stated AccuWeather Meteorologist Rob Richards.
Overall, rainfall totals are expected to remain light across the British Isles. However, a couple of heavier downpours are possible along western coasts and into higher elevations.
As showery spells spread over the area through Monday, cooler air will follow. Temperatures will decline into the lower 10s C (lower 50s F) in most areas. A couple locations in southeast England may hover near 15 C (59 F).
As cooler air arrives in Scotland, rain showers can mix with and change over to snow for a time in the Highlands.
The area of high pressure that moved across the United Kingdom this past weekend will linger over central Europe through at least the beginning of the week.
Once the showers exit the area on Tuesday, high pressure is forecast to build over the British Isles once again. Dry and mild conditions are forecast to return to the area into the middle of the week.
