Weather During Deadly Crane Collapse
CNN reports that a construction crane collapsed in Boston, Mass. around 1:30 PM Monday (April 3, 2006), killing three people. Weather records show winds at 11 mph average, gusting to only 21 at Boston during that time period, under clear skies, so at this time I think it is unlikely that weather was a factor in this tragedy. However, winds can certainly be higher at skyscraper height and even a 20-30 mph wind can cause trouble with high-profile machinery such as a crane, so I can't rule it out.
