VOTE Will Storm Record Be Broken?
We are closing in on 1933, which has the record number of named tropical Atlantic storms in one year. That year, we had 21 storms and would have reached "W" in the alphabet if storms had been named then. (Note that Q, X, Y and Z are not used). If we reach "Wilma" this year, an unprecedented feat, the government will start to name the storms with the Greek alphabet (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and so on).
We're already up to "R"... so what do you think? How far will we go this year? Take this poll to express your opinion:
What will the last Atlantic storm name be this year?
