That Lightning, Cell Phone Connection

There are more than 80 articles available on Google News today regarding the topic of cell phones and lightning, after a study came out in the U.K. advising against mixing the two.

The point of the article was that having the metal electronics next to your head increases injury because the lightning goes through the body, rather than over the skin. Still, I wonder if cell phones serve as a bit of a lightning rod, given no other metal nearby. Almost no one is confirming the common rumor that the radio waves act as a path for the lightning to the person talking on the cell phone.
