Shelters Empty As Dean Approaches Jamaica?
Early Sunday morning Hurricane Dean is approaching Jamaica with destruction in mind, but CNN reports* that shelters there are still nearly empty and a resident pleads for sanity on StormCarib.com:
Power will be cut to the island at 10 a.m., CNN says, and notes that five people have been killed so far by the storm elsewhere in the Caribbean.

As for Texas, as of Sunday morning, the Model Spread [JessePedia] has shifted southward since yesterday and few models currently predict a hit north of the Brownsville area; most are in Mexico (see below), as is the official AccuWeather.com forecast (archived here).
