Ready For Beach, Beach Ready For Me

I'm not really ready for vacation, I'm just kidding, I'm way behind on a mile-long list of things to do both at home and work. But The Beach [JessePedia] is getting ready for me... the NWS issued this statement this morning for Long Beach, NC:

"High temperatures this afternoon will flirt with the century mark... Combining these sweltering temperatures and afternoon relative humidities... heat indices will reach 105 degrees for up to several hours this afternoon. Even though temperatures along the immediate coast will not be as hot as their inland counterparts...the higher relative humidities will make up for this shortcoming."

I always tell the story... the first time I brought my wife to the beach the Apparent Temperature was 125 degrees at Wilmington, NC. We got out of the car at a Rest Area and the heat and humidity hit us like a wall. She's like "How do you people live here?"
