Photos: Weird Clouds, Sunsets, Fall
The most interesting photo uploaded to the AccuWeather.com Photo Gallery this week is by user NewFound Images:
who says "The sky was perfectly clear except for these two odd clouds." The photo was taken in Massachusetts on September 30, 2006. I'm at a loss too on how to explain this phenomenon - I may have seen something similar but I can't recall the explanation. If you have, contact me and let me know. It is reminiscent of hole-punch clouds (caused by falling ice crystals) but somewhat different.
Winter weather photos have been filed this week by kloid who combines a fall color theme with the arrival of winter in Minnesota...
and valleyweather, who captures an early-season snowfall in Ontario, Canada.
Some good sunset shots have also come in this week; click below to view the Sunrise/Sunset section of our Gallery.
And I just can't say enough about the talented photographers who have been submitting beautiful fall color photos, here is a sampling from the last week or so. Click below to be transported to the Fall Color section of our Photo Gallery.
You folks out there are having better luck than I; here in Central Pennsylvania the colors have been more muted than usual, with dark reds and yellows ruling. I'll post some pics soon of what little color we have had locally.
