Mythbusters Take on Hurricanes

Earlier this summer I did an entry about whether or not tornadoes or hurricanes could impale a telephone pole with a piece of straw (something that has been widely claimed but never photographed). It was something that I (and probably other viewers) had suggested they look into on their fan boards.

I am thrilled to announce that the Mythbusters will be taking on this topic, and another hurricane myth, in their final scheduled episode of this season. The show will air on the Discovery Channel at 9 pm Eastern, Wednesday September 4th. The blurb from their Episode Guide reads:
